- Web-inquiry response within an hour. The first dealer to respond often wins the deal.
- Long-term lead nurture for prospects who aren't ready yet but will be in 30-90 days.
Customize for your workflow
- Reference what they actually drove. Generic 'thanks for visiting' loses to 'how did the Pilot handle on your highway run?'
- Time follow-ups to the customer's stated timeline. If they said they're 60 days out, weekly emails for 8 weeks isn't helpful.
Common questions
How fast must I respond to web leads?
Within 5 minutes for the strongest conversion. Within an hour at minimum. Beyond that and the lead has likely engaged with another dealer.
How aggressive should follow-up cadence be?
Three to four touches in the first week, then weekly. Beyond two weeks of silence from them, switch to monthly value-adds (new inventory, price drops).
