Yes. The text expander is free and uncapped. Unlimited snippets, unlimited collections and tags, abbreviation expansion in every Mac app and every website, global hotkeys, the Spotlight-style launcher, rich text and Markdown, script snippets, dynamic tokens, AI tokens with your own API key, and iCloud sync all cost nothing.

There is also a clipboard manager, and most of that is free too: your 10 most recent clips, screenshot OCR, clip search, Quick Paste, pinning, tags, and AI actions on clips.

Five things, all in the Mac app. Pro does not apply to the Chrome extension, which is free with no paid tier.

An iOS app is coming soon. First, unlimited clips instead of the 10 most recent, so your clipboard history goes as far back as the retention setting you pick.

Second, Selection Prompts: highlight text in any app, trigger a prompt by its abbreviation or its own shortcut, and the result replaces your selection in place. Third, Prompt Chains: run several prompts in sequence on a single hotkey, each step receiving the previous step's output.

Fourth, notes sync between your own Macs over your own iCloud. Fifth, note version history, so every save keeps a snapshot you can roll back to.

That is the entire Pro tier. Notes itself is free, including as many vaults as you like, the global overlay, quick capture, daily notes, wikilinks, backlinks and AI on a note.

So is everything 5.0 added: the graph view of how your work connects, and search that finds a note by meaning rather than by the words you typed. Every future Pro feature is included in the same $18, and there is no subscription, no renewal, and no per-seat pricing.

No. It is a single payment. There is no annual renewal, no monthly charge, and no plan that lapses.

For comparison, TextExpander is $40 per year forever, Paste is $3.99 per month or $89.99 for a lifetime license, Supaste is $29, CopyMagic is $39.99, and ClipBook starts at $9.99 with no free tier at all. TypeFire is $18 once, on top of a free tier that stays free whether or not you ever upgrade.

Nothing is deleted. Your clips are still there and still searchable; you simply drop back to the free tier's 10 most recent.

Selection Prompts and Chains stay in your library but gray out with a Pro badge instead of disappearing, and they will not run from an abbreviation or a shortcut until you upgrade. If you would rather not see them, Settings has an option to hide locked snippets, and they reappear the moment Pro does.

Upgrade six months later and everything is exactly where you left it. The trial starts automatically when you install and never asks for a card, so nothing auto-charges.

No. You buy from inside the Mac app, which is what lets it unlock automatically once payment completes.

If anything goes wrong mid-checkout, there is an Activate option in the app, and your receipt email has everything you need.

One license covers up to three of your own Macs.

On a new Mac, or after a clean reinstall, choose Restore purchase and enter the email you bought with. Compare that to ClipBook, which sells per-device tiers starting at $9.99 for a single Mac and $14.99 for two.

If you are scanning a statement for an $18 charge you do not recognize, that is the one. It is $18 once, with your country's VAT or sales tax already included, and it does not repeat, because Pro is a single payment and not a subscription.

Your receipt goes to the email address you bought with and carries the order number, the date and the amount, so you can match it to the line on your statement. If anything still does not line up, email us and we will find the order for you.

Refund requests are accepted within 14 days of the purchase date and are reviewed by Paddle, who is the merchant of record for the transaction.

You can submit one from the link in your Paddle receipt email, or email us and we will raise it for you. Either way, email us first if something is wrong, because we would rather fix it than take your money back and leave you without the thing you wanted.

It covers text expansion in every web app on any operating system, including Windows, Linux, and ChromeOS. Pro applies only to the Mac app, because every Pro feature unlimited clipsSelection PromptsPrompt Chainsnotes sync and note version history depends on macOS capabilities the browser does not expose.

That free tier is not a stripped-down preview either: screenshot OCR, search across clips including text found inside images, Quick Paste with ⌘⌃2, pinning, tags, source-app filters, and AI actions on clips all work without paying. Pro removes the 10-clip cap.

As far as we know, TypeFire is the only Mac clipboard manager that includes OCR search and AI actions in a permanently free tier.
