Best regardsWhen to use this template
- Outbound to a list of prospects you've never spoken to. Skip the 'hope this finds you well' opener and lead with relevance.
- Account-based outreach to a specific named contact at a target company. Reference something specific (job change, recent post, company news).
- Re-engaging a stale lead from your CRM that ghosted 6+ months ago. Acknowledge the gap, give them a fresh reason to reply.
Customize for your workflow
- First sentence is everything. If it could've been written before you knew the recipient existed, rewrite it.
- Keep it under 80 words. Cold emails over 100 words get archived. Less convinces better than more.
Common questions
Should I include a calendar link in the first email?
No. Calendar links in cold opens read as 'I assume you'll meet with me'. Save them for the follow-up after a positive reply.
Is personalization at scale worth it?
Yes, if it's specific. 'Saw you spoke at X conference' beats 'I see you work at $COMPANY'. The latter is easier to automate but lands the same as no personalization.
