Claude MCP for your notes. One click to connect.

How do I add an MCP server for my notes to Claude?
Install TypeFire, open Settings, AI apps (MCP), and click Connect beside Claude. Quit and reopen the Claude Mac app once so it reads its new settings. TypeFire then shows up among Claude's tools, and Claude can search, read and save your notes.
Claude Code has its own row with the same button and needs no restart. Both work with the apps on your Mac, not with Claude in a browser or on a phone.

No config file
Connect adds TypeFire to Claude's settings for you, and backs the file up first.
No API key
No key to copy and no extra account. Connecting is the permission.
TypeFire starts itself
If it's quit when the AI asks, it starts in the menu bar on its own.
How to add TypeFire to Claude as an MCP server
About a minute, the first time.
- 01
Install TypeFire and add a vault
Pick a folder of Markdown notes, or an Obsidian vault you already have. TypeFire opens it as it is.
- 02
Click Connect beside Claude
Settings, AI apps (MCP), Connect your AI apps. TypeFire adds one entry to Claude's settings and backs the file up first.
- 03
Quit and reopen Claude once
The Claude Mac app reads its settings when it starts. Claude Code picks the change up on its own.
- 04
Ask about your notes
"What did I decide about pricing?" Claude may ask you to approve each use of TypeFire; that prompt is Claude's own.
What to ask Claude, once it can reach TypeFire.
Anything that starts with "my notes" works better when Claude can actually read them.
"Turn this conversation into a meeting note"
Saved in your vault with tags, then Claude offers to open it in TypeFire.
"What did I write about the Q3 launch?"
Claude searches every vault and lists what it found before it answers.
"Add this to today's daily note"
Added to today's daily note in your vault.
"Make a snippet for this reply"
A new snippet with the abbreviation you name, ready to type anywhere.
Claude Code memory, kept in your vault.
Claude Code forgets between sessions and leaves plans in the repo. Paste TypeFire's ready line into the project's CLAUDE.md and it saves plans and decisions to your vault, and checks there before starting new work.
A line per vault
Copy it from Settings, AI apps (MCP), Make TypeFire your agent's notebook.
It looks before it starts
Earlier plans and decisions are found, not re-derived.

Notes, snippets, and clipboard history if you allow it.
Searching and reading are free. Creating, editing, moving and deleting need Pro or the trial.
Notes, in every vault
Search with your operators or by meaning (Weave, Apple silicon), read the note you have open or any note, links and backlinks; with Pro, create, make exact edits, rename, move, add to today's note and delete to the Trash.
Snippets
Search and read; with Pro, create or edit any type, Selection Prompts and chains included.
Clipboard history
Off at first. Turn it on and the AI can search it, screenshots included, and put a clip back.
Your edit wins
If a note changed since the AI read it, the edit is refused. Deletes go to the Trash.
