Best Clipboard Manager Chrome Extensions in 2026 (Free)
Copy a link, copy a phone number, copy a paragraph, and the link is gone. A clipboard manager keeps everything you copied so you can find it again. In Chrome, that means an extension.
We compared four options in 2026 on what they keep, how you find things again, and what they cost.
1. TypeFire for Chrome: clips, snippets and notes in one
Price: Free. Pro is one $18 purchase, shared with the Mac app.
TypeFire keeps the things you copy on web pages, in order and searchable by what they say. Name a clip, tag it, or pin it so it never drops off. Paste any of them back from the Spotlight that opens over any page, or save one as a snippet with its own abbreviation, or as a Markdown note.
Two site lists decide where copies are recorded and where they never are. And because TypeFire is also a text expander and a Markdown notes app, the clip you keep pasting can become a snippet in one click.
Strengths: Search, pin, name and tag; clip to snippet; snippets and Markdown notes in the same extension; runs in Chrome and Edge on Windows, Linux, ChromeOS and Mac

2. Clipboard History Pro: history with phone sync
Price: Free plan; Pro is an in-app purchase.
Clipboard History Pro has over 100,000 users and a 4.0 rating from 788 reviews. It saves what you copy, with search, stars and tags, a floating window and right-click pasting, plus shortcut-style text expansion. Pro adds unlimited history, cloud sync to Android and iOS, a password lock and more shortcuts.
Where it wins: if you want your clipboard on your phone, its sync is the reason to pick it.
3. Permanent Clipboard: a snippet library with history
Price: Free plan; Premium for sync and extras.
Permanent Clipboard has about 40,000 users and a 4.4 rating from 293 reviews. It is mostly a snippet library in nested folders, inserted from a popup or the right-click menu, with a history of recent copies kept on the device. Premium adds sync, image snippets, snippet version history and recovery for deleted items.
Where it wins: if you think in folders and like inserting from the right-click menu, it fits that habit.
4. ChromeOS's built-in clipboard
Price: Free, built in.
On a Chromebook, the Launcher key and V shows your recent copies. Nothing to install, and fine for the last few things you copied. There is no search, pinning or naming, and it is not available in Chrome on Windows, Mac or Linux.
