Hi {{cursor}},
Quick update on friendly request:
[Key information]
Let me know if you have any questions.
BestWhen to use this template
- Sprint planning agenda that lists capacity, candidate stories, dependencies, and rolls up to commitment.
- Retrospective format where the same prompts (what went well, what didn't, what to try) make trends visible across sprints.
- Async standup template for distributed teams. Yesterday / today / blockers, posted in a thread, no meeting required.
Customize for your workflow
- Adjust the format to your team's actual rhythm. A 1-week sprint team needs lighter ceremonies than a 3-week sprint team.
- If your team uses Linear, Jira, or Shortcut, the template should produce something pasteable into a comment or note field.
Common questions
Should retros be in the standup template too?
Keep them separate. Standups are tactical (what's blocking today); retros are reflective (what should change). Mixing them dilutes both.
How do I keep retros from being whining sessions?
Lock retros to one structural change as the output. Without a 'what we'll try', the same complaints surface every sprint.
