Notes are plain markdown files in a folder you own. This vault is a journal. Every note here is a file you could open in any editor, and the app never rewrites one you have not edited. You can have more than one. The vault switcher at the top adds a second folder: this one is a git repo of docs, and it is read where it is. No import, no conversion. Open a note and it renders as you write: headings, bullets, a table, code, and the markdown stays plain underneath. A task ticks with a click. Type straight into a table cell. The pipes never show, and Shift Enter puts a line break inside the cell. A new bullet keeps its indent. Type a slash on an empty line for everything else: callouts, a code block with its language, a table, a footnote, a link to a note. Two square brackets link to another note. A picker offers the titles as you type, and hovering a link shows the note without leaving this one. Every connection collects at the foot of the note, both ways. Follow one, and that note is the one you are in. The outline on the right jumps between headings. Every save keeps a version. Open the history, read any earlier one, and Restore brings it back, with the current text saved first so nothing is lost. AI on a note runs through the provider you set up: summarize, outline, pull out the tasks. On Apple Intelligence it never leaves the Mac. The summary lands at the top. From any app: select something, press Command Control Shift N, and quick capture opens over it. Give it a title if you want one. Save, and it is a note in the journal, already open in the app.
