You remember writing about a vendor putting its prices up. Search for it, and nothing comes back, because the note never used those words. Weave fixes that. It is off by default. Settings, then Weave, then the switch. It asks once for a small language model, with the size shown. It downloads one time and runs on this Mac. Nothing you write is sent anywhere. Then the index builds: every note, snippet and clip, read once, on your own machine. It keeps itself up to date after that. Now the same search. The note comes back, by what it means, with the sentence that matched: the renewal terms are brutal. Exact matches still come first. The ones found by meaning sit with them, marked, so you always know which is which. Weave also draws the graph: everything you have written, connected. Solid lines are links, tags and folders you made. Dotted ones are things Weave found similar. Group by theme, and it sorts itself into clusters it names for you. Go in on one note. Solid lines are the connections you made. Dotted ones are the notes Weave found similar, which you never linked yourself. Double click, and it is the note, open and ready to edit. Turn Weave off any time. It asks whether to keep the index, and either answer leaves your notes exactly as they were.
