• Notes at a glance

  Notes is the third tab, beside Snippets and Clips. Press 3 .

• More than one vault

  Above your folder list there is a dropdown showing the vault you are in. Open it to switch to another, rename one, or add a folder you have not used yet. It is free, with no cap.

• Using a folder you already have

  This is the point of the feature.

• Notes anywhere

  Press ⌘ ⌃ 3 from any application.

• Quick capture and daily notes

  ⌘ ⌃ ⇧ N opens the overlay on the Notes tab with an empty composer. Type as much as you like, then press Save .

• The note list and the editor

  The middle column is the note list. Each row is a title, a line of the note, its collection and when it was last changed. Word count is available as a sort and in the editor's own footer, rather than on every row. How much of the body you see is up to you: Settings → Notes → Preview lines offers none, one or two. One is the default.

• Wikilinks and backlinks

  Type [[ in a note and start typing a title. Pick one and the link is inserted.

• AI on a note

  The AI button in the editor toolbar can summarize, outline, continue, rewrite, or extract the tasks from a note. It runs on whichever provider you have set up in Settings → AI , including Apple Intelligence, which runs on-device with no network and no per-use cost.

• Notes and snippets, both ways

  A note to a snippet : the ⚡ button in the note editor. The note stays where it is; a copy becomes a snippet, and you give it an abbreviation afterwards like any other.

• Markdown files outside the vault

  TypeFire is a capable lightweight Markdown editor for any .md or .txt file on your Mac. A plain text file is markdown, it just has no formatting in it, so .txt files in your vault are listed, searched and edited like any other note. Nothing is converted and nothing is rewritten.
