Quick capture and daily notes

⌘⌃⇧N opens the overlay on the Notes tab with an empty composer. Type as much as you like, then press Save.

Only Save writes the note. Enter and Escape do not: Enter is a line break, and Escape closes the panel with your draft kept, so the next press of the hotkey has it waiting. Nothing you typed is written until you say so.

What you saved becomes its own note, titled from its first line. It is not appended to a shared Inbox file.

Click to add a title sits above the composer. It is optional: leave it and the first line names the note; type one and that is the name, exactly as you typed it. A title on its own, with nothing in the composer, is still a note.

⌘⌃⇧D opens today's daily note, creating it if it does not exist yet.

TypeFire works out where your daily notes live by looking at your folder when you set it up: a folder of date-named files is recognized, along with the format those files use (YYYY-MM-DD, YYYY/MM/DD, DD-MM-YYYY or YYYYMMDD). It tells you what it found rather than adopting it silently, and you can change both in Settings → Notes.
