When it doesn't work
- TypeFire shows as failed (red) in the AI app. Check Let AI apps on this Mac use TypeFire in Settings → AI apps (MCP). The AI app's MCP log has the reason. If you just connected Claude or Codex, quit and reopen it.
- It says TypeFire didn't start. Open TypeFire once. AI apps need TypeFire 6 or later.
- The AI finds nothing. Notes or Snippets may be off for AI apps, the vault may be on a drive that isn't connected, or the AI searched one vault. Ask it to list your vaults first.
- A save is refused. Read the reason the AI passes on. It's usually the Pro plan, Read only, or a note you changed since the AI read it.
- Connect says it couldn't read the app's settings file. The file has a mistake in it, so TypeFire left it alone. Fix or remove the file, or use the manual setup above.
